Aspirants to pay Between N17m- and N1.5m
The All Progressives Congress APC has fixed Wednesday, December 27 for commencement of sale of nomination/ Expression of Interest forms ahead of the February 3,2024 By-elections to feel vacant position in the Senate, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly.
The party has also scheduled its primary elections for January 6.This was made known by Suleiman Argungu,the National Organising Secretary of the party, in a timetable and schedule of activities notice for the by-election in Abuja
According to the notice, the sale of forms will end by Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
It said senatorial aspirants are to pick nominations and expression of interest forms for N17 million and N3 million respectively
Aspirants to the House of Representatives are to pay N1 million naira for the expression of interest form and N9 million for nomination form each, while State House of Assembly aspirants will pay N500,000 for the expression of interest and N1.5 million for nomination forms each.
In line with the policy of the party, female aspirants and People With Disabilities (PWDs) are only required to pay for the expression of interest for any of the elections as their nomination form is given for free.
Also, youth between the ages of 25 and 40 are to purchase the expression of interest and get the nomination forms at a 50 percent discount for each position.
The notice said that Delegates who are to elect the candidates in the primary elections are required to pay #5,000 for the delegate form adding that “candidates must be financial members of the party for not less than 3 months to the date of Delegate Congress with evidence of payment of membership dues at the rate of N200 only per month.”
