
Edison Ogerenye Ehie, Speaker of the 4- member House of Assembly during the political crisis in Rivers state has resigned from office.
In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on Friday,29 th December, Ehie who represents Ahoada East State Constituency ll said he was resigning from his position as Speaker and from the House of Assembly as member representing Ahoada East Constituency ll.
Ehie was the majority leader of the 10th Assembly before the political crisis set in and he assumed the role of speaker .
His resignation may not be unconnected with the 8- point peace deal brokered by President Bola Tinubu for peace to reign in Rivers state.
