Safiyanu Isa Andaha, the Chairman of Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state, has been kidnapped .
It was gathered that the council chairman and his political godfather Adamu Umar Custom, were traveling when gunmen ambushed them at Bingo village in Akwanga and took them to an unknown destination.
The incident it was learnt happened on the evening of January 1.
The LGA chairman and his political godfather were said to be traveling without a driver and security personnel when they were abducted by the gunmen.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the police in collaboration with other security agencies were on the trail of the kidnappers to ensure the release of the two men.
Nansel said the Police Commissioner in the state, Umar Nadada had already mobilised personnel to pursue the hoodlums and ensure their safe release .
