The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation,Dr Betta Edu has announced a three- month job opening for humanitarian aid workers in plateau state.
The Minister said the measure was part of ” The New Year ‘s plan” by her ministry to hire Humanitarian aid workers and deploying them to every location where there are humanitarian crises going forward
” This will not only reduce unemployment but will improve our response time and the quality of response going forward ,a statement by the Ministry posted on X said.
According to the statement, ” These people will be hired for three months in the first instance, and if the crisis is protracted, they may be made to stay 6 months or one year maximum.”
Edu said that those with skills and experience in humanitarian aid work have *greater advantages as she pointed out that members of the public who are also interested could do so by forwarding a written application to the Department of Humanitarian Affairs or as an online application ( portal link will be published by Monday. Application for the job is totally free.
Meanwhile, “in line with the President’s directive” more relief materials have arrived Bakin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau state.
“They include both food and non food items as part of humanitarian response” the statement added.
