A Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Pantami, has announced that the sum of N50 million ransom has been raised for the freedom of the remaining abducted sisters of Al-Kadriyar family
Bandits on Tuesday night invaded Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and abducted a man and his six daughters.
The criminals released the father and asked him to raise N60 million to secure his daughters’ freedom before Friday.
But the family raised only N30 million, which the criminals rejected and killed Nabeeha, the eldest child and a 500 – level student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
The bandits after killing Nabeeha, raised the ransom to N100 million and threatened to kill the her sisters if the money was not paid.
Following the sad news of the brutal killing of Nabeeha, , the former minister of Communications and Digital Economy,Isa Patami announced that he spoke with “a friend and a brother” who volunteered to pay N50 million of the ransom demanded by the bandits
Patami wrote “Alhamdu lil Laah! I am personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. However, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, as I spoke with the father on the matter yesterday and today.
“Furthermore, I spoke with a friend and a brother who offered to pay the remaining 50 million Naira of the 60m immediately. I conveyed the account number of the father of pur daughters, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, to the friend and brother to send the money directly. Any additional amount earlier generated from yesterday, the father can use to treat the daughters and other family members in sha Allah.”
The former minister prayed for those who contributed to ease the plight of the Al- Kadriya family and the security of the nation.
