More Governors on Friday won their appeal at the Supreme Court .
They are Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State,Abdullahi Sule ( Nasarawa) Sheriff Oborevwori ( Delta)Nasir Idris ( Kebbi) and Inuwa Yahaya ( Gombe).
For Ogun State,a five – member panel of Justices led by Justice Tijani Abubakar dismissed the appeal filed by Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP against Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress APC..
According to the panel, Adebutu’s appeal challenging the election of Abiodun “is unmeritorious and hereby dismissed “
In the case of Nasarawa state,, the Apex court panel comprising 5 members in a lead judgement delivered by Justice Kudirat Kekere- Ekun dismissed the 4 appeals filed by Emmanuel David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP against Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress APC.
For Kebbi state, the Supreme Court held that the appeal filed by Aminu Bande of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP against Governir Idris lacked merit and dismissed the appeal.
The Supreme Court also dismissed the appeal filed by PDP ‘sJibrin Barde against Governor Inuwa’s election in Gombe State.
In the appeal of Kenneth Gbagi SDP, against Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,the Supreme Court held that Gbagi and his party failed to prove that the election of Oborevwori was not in compliance with the relevant laws . The court therefore dismissed the appeal.
