The University of Port Harcourt ( UNIPORT) has confirmed the death of a final year student of the institution, identified as Mudiaga who was said to have passed out and died after taking an overdose of the deadly ” Colorado Drug” given to him by his friend.
Current Matters gathered that the incident occurred after a football match
It was learnt that the friend offered the drug to Mudiaga and two others who unsuspectingly took it for normal cigarettes and passed out after smoking it.
But while the two others regained consciousness later, Mudiaga did not and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Saturday, the Spokesman of the University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Sammy Kpenu,stated that the incident occurred outside the campus .
He said that the friend who gave Mudiaga and others the “Colorado” cigarette has been arrested by the Police.
. Colorado is a drug made from synthetic plants and said to contain heavy metal unsuitable for human consumption.
It is said to induce irregular breathing , abnormal behavioural patterns in users, including temporary madness and even fatal conditions.
