Nigeria’s Men Football team, the Super Eagles beat Cameroon by two goals to nil. to advance to the quarter finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations at the Felix Houphet – Boigny Stadium. In Abidjan, the Ivory Coast capital on Saturday,27 January,2024.
The two goals were scored by Atalanta winger,Ademola Lookman firstly in the first half through a pass by Napoli Attacker,Victor Osimhen and a pass in the second half by Fulham Defender, Calvin Bassey.
The encounter which was seen as fiercely competitive by the two sides had Nigeria having the most possession of the ball.
The deliberate attack by the Indomitable Lions on Nigeria’s goal keeper Stanley Nwabali and his removal from the goal post did not deter the Super Eagles from showing superior performance.
Goal keeper Francis Uzoho who replaced Nwabali kept an eagle eye on the goal post as the Indomitable Lions put up unwavering pressure on the Nigerian team to score at least a goal but the strong midfield of the Super Eagles, the mesmerising and superlative manoeuvres of Osimhen, the United from put up by captain Troost Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman,Ola Aina,Victor Moses , Calvin Bassey and others made the Super Eagles a delight to watch .
