Two Luxury buses travelling from Abia state to Abuja have been hijacked by Kidnappers in Kogi State.
The incident which happened on Saturday, February 3. Involved the God is Good Motors ( GIG) and ABC Transport with all passengers in kidnappers” custody.
A social media user,Chude Nnamdi broke the news quoting a report by someone whose wife was in one of the buses as saying ” Kindly assist raise awareness about the hijack of GIG bus by gunmen in Kogi yesterday and unfortunately my wife was in that bus.
“The GIG bus left Umuahia by 7;30 am and was hijacked in Kogi state
“GIG company said they have contacted the security services and they are tracking them.
“The kidnappers phoned this morning via my wife’s phone and was demanding N15m”
Confirming the incident on Monday, the Kogi State Police Command said the Divisional Police Officer and his men, Local Vigilantes and Hunters are combing the bush to rescue the kidnapped passengers.
According to Williams Aya,the Spokesman of the Command, the Command has deployed additional tactical teams comprising Quick Response Unit, Police Mobile Force,Counter Terrorism Unit as well as conventional police personnel to the area” to ensure all victims are rescued
