The Road Transport Owners in the letter dated 15 February and issued by Yusuf Lawal Othman, the National President explained that the association took the decision to Withdraw their Trucks as the last option as several efforts to secure negotiations with relevant authorities for seamless operations have yielded no positive responses.
Nigerians are currently grappling with extreme poverty, Food Scarcity, Anxiety, Depression and Anger triggered by Hunger . There are also issues of darkness caused by breakdowns of the National Grid .
With NARTO ‘s Decision to down tools, the fear being expressed on the streets is that there would be scarcity of petroleum products as well as a price increase.
A visit to a petrol filling station in Port Harcourt revealed a price tag of 605 per litre which however, did not adequately reflect on the fuel guage.
” It appears they have increased the pump price ” a customer at the station sidely remarked .
