The Minister of Defence State, Bello Matawalle said the ban on unauthorized use of military camouflage by non military formations remain in force.
Matawalle,who spoke through the Director, Public Relations in the Ministry of Defence, Henshaw Ogubike said in a statement that only members of the Armed Forces, The Army,Navy and the Airforce ,are allowed to wear the camouflage
The Minister however said that the Police are allowed to wear it only when they are on joint operation with the military.
According to him the ban on the use of camouflage by Paramilitary establishments was “to check the crime rate” in the country saying. ” If we identify those who are authorised to use the camouflage,we can quickly differentiate them from criminals who intend to confuse us”
