The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the governor of Cross River state, Senator Bassey Otu as the chairman of its governorship primary election committee in Edo state.
The party had previously appointed Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo as the Chairman of the primary which was declared inconclusive by the party following irregularities which led to the emergence of three candidates as winners.
Uzodinma had declared Dennis Idahosa as the winner of the party primary ,a move that was rejected by other candidates and their supporters.
However,Monday Okpebholo and Anamero Dekeri also claimed victory in the election that yielded no conclusive result..

Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo and chairman of the panel when the primary was held on Saturday, had declared Dennis Idahosa, a member of the house of representatives, winner of the exercise.
