The Qatari Embassy has written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja confirming the acceptance of hosting and attending the Business and Investment Forum on the sidelines of President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the country in March.
The acceptance comes amid a raging controversy over a leaked note verbal which purportedly ” snubbed” Tinubu ‘s planned visit to Qatar.
Soon after, the presidency clarified the situation saying that President Tinubu’s visit to the country was not affected by the memo as only the business forum between the Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture with the Qatari counterparts was mentioned in the leaked memo.
However, the Qatari government on Sunday said that the Business Forum will hold on the sidelines of Tinubu’s state visit between the 2nd and 3rd of March 2024.
The Forum aims to create business and investment opportunities and foster partnerships between the Nigerian Business community and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce .
President Tinubu is expected to attend the Forum with his host,Sheikh Thamin Hamad Ibn Al -Thani ,Emir of Qatar.
