Abducted Channels Television Correspondent, Joshua Rogers, has regained his freedom.
Our reporter gathered that Rogers breathed the air of freedom Friday night with no clear information on whether the demanded N30 million ransom was paid or not.
Rogers was abducted from his residence in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday night while returning from a state assignment.
Rogers, who covers the Rivers State Government House for his organization, was reportedly trailed after closing from work to his home.
The assailants intercepted him before he could exit his car at gunpoint and forcibly took him away in his vehicle to an undisclosed location around 9:00 p.m.
Rogers was said to have earlier covered an event in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of the state, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara had inaugurated a Primary Healthcare Centre built and donated by the PAMO Educational Foundation, founded by former Rivers governor, Dr. Peter Odili.
The abductors are said to have contacted Rogers’ wife, demanding a ransom of N30 million for his release.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists and other media organisations had earlier called for his release unhurt.
