The embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC,Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has been suspended by another faction of the APC in Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State
The Secretary of the faction,, Ja’afar Ganduje, who spoke to journalists on behalf of 11 others on Sunday ,alleged that the National Chairman of the party was suspended because of his anti-party activities that led to the defeat of the party in the 2023 election in the state.
He claimed that Ganduje created internal conflicts in the ward leading to multiple factions of the party
“First, we have suspended Ganduje’s membership for creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level,”
“Another major reason why the authentic executives resolved to suspend Ganduje is the issue of anti-party activities he committed during the 2023 elections which resulted in the party’s failure in the state.”
The suspension of the APC National Chairman is the second under a week by the Ganduje ward in Kano
The first, purportedly announced by the legal officer in the ward and dismissed as the work of external forces and impostors by the National Working Committee NWC of the party had landed in Kano High court with Justice Na’abba affirming the suspension.
However, the court’s decision was challenged and consequently overturned by another court of competent jurisdiction
The initial suspension was announced by Halliru Gwanzo, legal adviser of the ward, during a briefing with journalists in Kano on April 15.
Subsequently, the working committee of the APC in Kano nullified the suspension and sanctioned the ward executives.
A few days later, some APC leaders in Ganduje ward paid a solidarity visit to the national chairman in Abuja.
On April 17, the Kano state high court affirmed the suspension of Ganduje by the ward executives.
The court, while granting an ex parte order, also restrained the former Kano governor from parading himself as a member of the APC.
Twenty-four hours later, a federal high court in Kano ordered the suspension of Ganduje to be halted.
