The Federal Government says work on the 700kn Lagos – Coastal Highway will commence on Saturday with the demolition of structures on the marked areas for the first three kilometres..
Consequently, property owners who have concerns and have received demolition notices are requested to visit the Federal Ministry of Works between Thursday April 25 and Friday April 26 at 3 pm to sort out their issues.
The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos,Korede Keisha disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday..
She said ” The demolition squad will move to action on Saturday morning for the first three kilometres
” For the first three kilometres, anything within the right of way of the Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway will be dropped down from Saturday morning.
” So, I want to use this medium to reach out to as many as we cannot put calls across to, that this will go a long way to let them know that their issues will be sorted out between today and tomorrow
According to Keisha, the notice is especially for the properties from zero to three kilometres of the project and have been marked and identified as standing in the way of the project corridors “
The project aims to link Lagos to Cross River through the coastal States of Ogun , Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa,Rivers and Akwa Ibom.
The value of the 700km project is N15 trillion while construction of the first three kilometres will cost N4Billion .
