The Kano State Government will issue a certificate of recognition to Mohammed Sanusi ll as the sixteenth Enir of Kano.
According to Sanusi Bature, Director- General, Media and Publicity to the Kano State government,Sanusi will receive the certificate by 10 am on Friday,24th May 2024.
Bature revealed that the 16th Emir already arrived in the state on Thursday after the bill by the House of Assembly reinstating him was assented by the state governor,Abba Yusuf.
He disclosed that the sacked emirs have been given forty eight hours to vacate the palaces saying some have complied with the directive.
Bature who spoke in an Arise TV program on Friday morning also dismissed an exparte order by a court in Kano restraining the reinstatement of Sanusi ll
He argued that the order which was supposed to prevent something from happening came at about eleven o’clock in the night six hours after the Bill dissolving the Emirates and reinstatement of Sanusi had been signed into law by Gov . Yusuf.
Sanusi was appointed the 14th Emir of Kano in 2014 and was dethroned in 2020.
Sanusi,an economist, banker and public analyst was a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
