The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, says the Woman who traffic Underage girls to Ghana has been arrested.
According to an online report, the Nigerian Lady named Chioma Sabina Abaraonye is accused of trafficking young Nigerian women to Ghana under the guise of offering them jobs as sales girls but upon their arrival, they are forced into prostitution.
The latest current matters understands were two young women whom she trafficked with the help of her boyfriend to Ghana through the Aflao border to Tamale for job opportunities.
But upon their arrival they found out that they had been deceived. One of the victims was said to have escaped and reported the incident to security agents in the area.
It was learnt that the woman and her boyfriend took strands of their hair and took off some of their nails to compel them into taking an oath suggesting secrecy with a threat that if they made an attempt to report their ordeal to authorities they would end up being mad or dead..
However, the Chairman/ CEO of NIDCOM,Abike Dabiri – Erewa said that the trafficker has been arrested.
Dabiri – Erewa who took to X on Saturday morning said that the culprit would be charged to court in Ghana next week while arrangements have been made to bring the rescued girls back to Nigeria
She wrote ” These are the young girls trafficked to Ghana for prostitution . We thank Chief Callistus, Chairman,NIDO Ghana for ensuring the arrest of the evil perpetrator. I’m sure @naptipnigeria will follow up , Very, very heartbreaking “
