The President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Dr Chris Isiguzo, has Felicitated with Muslims brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
“I wish to extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to each and every one of you as you celebrate Eid al-Adha”.
According to him,”This sacred festival, known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a time of profound reflection, devotion, and community spirit. It reminds us of the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity that are central to our faith and our national identity”.
“Eid al-Adha is a celebration of faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in obedience to God’s command. This story of devotion and trust in the divine resonates deeply with us as we navigate the challenges and opportunities of our profession. It calls on us to recommit ourselves to the principles of truth, integrity, and dedication in our professional works”.
Isiguzo stated, “As journalists, we play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of our nation. We are the custodians of truth, the voice of the voiceless, and the defenders of democracy. As we celebrate this Sallah, let us draw inspiration from the spirit of Eid al-Adha to uphold these sacred responsibilities with renewed vigor and commitment. Our work is essential in fostering transparency, accountability, and unity in our diverse society”.
“This festive season is also a time for giving and sharing. As we partake in the joy of this celebration, let us remember those, who are less fortunate and extend our hands in solidarity and support. Whether through sharing meals, providing assistance, or simply offering kindness, our collective actions can make a significant difference in the lives of others and strengthen the bonds of our community”.
He noted, “As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us pray for peace, prosperity, and progress for our beloved country, Nigeria. May the spirit of Eid al-Adha inspire us all to work together towards a future marked by mutual respect, understanding, and collective growth. Let us continue to strive for excellence in our profession, contributing to the betterment of our nation and the wellbeing of all its citizens”.
Dr Isiguzo wished all Muslim faithfuls a joyous and blessed Eid al-Adha.
