A Seven – member Caretaker Committee for each of the twenty three local government councils are being screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The programme which is taking place at the Hallowed Chamber ,Rivers State House of Assembly Auditorium , Admin Block, Government House, Port Harcourt has a long list of members from the Peoples Democratic Party, and other parties. Some of those included to serve as chairman include a former Member of the State House of Assembly Evans Bipi who will oversee the Ogu/ Bolo Local Government Council , Activist, Marvin Yobana , for Khana Local Government council while John Otamiri Ngubo will be in charge of Etche local government council.
Earlier,a statement issued by Dr G.M Gillis – West,Clerk of the House said that the screening and confirmation of members of the caretaker committee “is pursuant to Section 9(5)of the Rivers State Local Government Law , No 5 of 2018”.
