Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has inspected the Omodu-Eberi-Omuma Road in Omuma Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor said that the 8kilometers project awarded by his administration, which would have been commissioned as part of the one year anniversary celebrations, had to be extended to 14.6kilometers so as to link the neighbouring Abia State.
Governor Fubara said that the projects inspection was undertaken to correct the erroneous impression in some quarters that the entire State was riddled with crisis, and an atmosphere of fear and tension.
The Governor, who said this at Egbelu Junction in Omuma during the inspection of the road infrastructure project on Thursday, emphasised that the State is peaceful, government activities functioning normally while residents were going about their legitimate businesses unhindered.
