The new Caretaker Committee( CTC )Chairmen of the twenty three local government councils in Rivers State have begun discharging their duties in their respective Local Government Areas.
Current matters reports that no fewer than twelve council Chairmen perform the inauguration of their CTC members on Thursday.
Some of the councils include Obio Akpor, Oyigbo, Omuma and Andoni.
In Omuma, our correspondent reports that the Chairman of the CTC, Mr Ebere Reginald not only inaugurated other members of the committee but also made fresh appointments.
Some of the appointments include Council Secretary,Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary .

While the Police have continued to occupy the Local Government Councils,the new CTC have found new ways of carrying out their assignment which primarily involves the improvement of the lives of their people.
Recall that Governor Siminilayi Fubara on Wednesday performed the swearing in of Chairmen of the CTCs after they were screened and confirmed by the State House Assembly, same day.
Their appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of elected local government officials on Monday, June 17,2024.
