The Nigerian Army has discharged six soldiers for allegedly fleeing a Boko Haram attack, current matters gathered.
The soldiers, part of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, reportedly abandoned their posts during an attack near Damboa in Borno State earlier this month. It was reported that over ten soldiers were killed in the assault.
The dismissed soldiers include:
– 19NA/78/0690 PTE OLANIYI EMMANUEL
– 20NA/79/3745 PTE MASA’UDU ADAMU
– 22NA/82/5192 PTE ABDUL AZEE SALEH
– 22NA/82/1721 PTE MOHAMMED MOHAMMED
– 22NA/82/1191 PTE ADAH TOYE
– 22NA/82/1909 PTE HASSAN ABUBAKAR
But sources claimed that the soldiers were unfairly dismissed explaining that they retreated after their ammunition was exhausted .
It was further learnt that the Boko Haram terrorists infiltrated the military position and killed the soldiers due to lack of adequate firepower and equipment.
