Some unidentified youths on Monday morning bombed the Secretariat of the Action Peoples Party ,APP in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Current matters gathered from Party men that the incident was linked to the Local Government Councils’ elections due to hold in the state.
The party members,who were seen around the party secretariat located at the GRA , condemned the incident in totality, wondering what would happen during the election.
The members who spoke unanimously under condition of anonymity alleged that the bombing had the bearings of enemies of the state adding ” They have reintroduced bombing to kil perceived opponents.
” If indeed they are strong, they should gear up and go to the polls ‘ They think they can unleash terror on the people to make them submit to unpopular dictates of a man whose time has passed,? They have failed ” one of them declared.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Tunj Disu was at the scene of the blast to have first hand information about the incident.
Disu,who advised residents to be security conscious also ordered that the scene of the blast be condoned off.
