Suspected bandits on Thursday reportedly obstructed the busy Gusau–Funtua highway, kidnapping an unspecified number of travelers.
The bandits armed with about 50 motorcycles reportedly set up a roadblock at the Tazame axis for hours, and abducted several travellers unchallenged.

Reports indicate that the Zamfara state government pays huge amounts to leaders of the bandits to lower the rave of criminal activities in the state.
The terrorists are also said to have placed taxes on communities to pay or get their lives and homes destroyed.
