A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday dismissed a suit challenging the appointment of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC.
The suit filed by North Central APC group alleged breaches of the APC constitution , specifically Article 13. They argued that the appointment of Ganduje violated the zoning arrangement given that he hails from Kano,in North West instead of the North Central .
But the presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the petition on grounds that the group lacked the capacity to institute such a suit having not being a registered entity…
The judge held that the appointment of officers is the exclusive responsibility of political parties and that the court cannot interfere with the internal affairs of political parties.
Ganduje was appointed as the Chair of the APC on August 3,2023 by the National Executive Council NEC following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa state.
