Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have apprehended four notorious kidnappers responsible for a string of abductions across Jabi, Dutse village, Lugbe, and other areas.
The arrest by the Anti – Kidnapping Unit of the Command followed the Command’s heightened efforts to combat the rising wave of kidnappings within the region.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh,the suspects have confessed to their involvement in numerous kidnapping operations across Kaduna, Niger, and the FCT.
She said the gang admitted to abducting several victims and are linked to the deaths of over seven people .
“These individuals have terrorized communities for a long time, but due to the relentless efforts of our officers, we were able to intercept and arrest them before they could carry out further attacks in Abuja and Niger.
“Their arrest is a significant breakthrough for our unit and a reassurance to residents that we are committed to safeguarding lives.”
Adeh revealed that the gang was planning new abductions when the unit arrested them.
“They were gearing up for another round of kidnappings, but we managed to neutralize the threat before any harm could be done,”
She added that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will soon be charged to court.
