The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has charged the Media to collaborate in fostering national unity and development.
CP Disu made the appeal on Wednesday when members of the Society of Practicing Television Cameramen visited him at the Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja.
During the visit, CP Disu engaged extensively with the Executive Committee members of the association, emphasizing the importance of synergy and collaboration between the Police and media practitioners in fostering national unity and development.
He highlighted the critical role of television cameramen and Journalists in shaping public perception and urged them to continue upholding the ethics of their profession while reporting responsibly.
The Commissioner assured the delegation of the Command’s commitment to maintaining the cordial relationship that exists between the FCT Police and media professionals.
He also encouraged continuous dialogue and cooperation to enhance transparency and mutual understanding.
In a statement, the Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh says the FCT Police Command appreciates the efforts of the media in promoting accurate and timely dissemination of information and remains dedicated to fostering an environment where both institutions can work together effectively for the greater good of society.
