The Port Harcourt refinery has commenced fuel production
The development comes after several months and years of Cluelessness, politicisation and postponement
The Tinubu government had at inception, assured that the Port Harcourt Refinery would commence daily production of fuel from the end of December 2023 . This was not the case as the date of production was postponed to March 2024. March came yet the date of production was further postponed to April, then August, and October 2024.
But,in a statement on Tuesday, NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, said the loading of trucks would start today.
The commencement of production of the Port Harcourt Refinery (in reality) brings the number of active local refineries to two.- Dangote and Port Harcourt Refinery.
It is also expected to stop Nigeria’s dependence and patronage of foreign products ,promote availability and reduce cost of petroleum products.
