The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) said the price of Premium Motor Spirit PMS produced by the old Port Harcourt Refinery is ₦75 per litre higher than the cost of the product in Dangote Refinery.
PETROAN’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Obele, made this known during the official reopening ceremony of the refinery, which is now operating at a capacity of 60,000 barrels per day.
According to him, while Dangote Refinery sells petrol to marketers at ₦970 per litre, NNPCL’s price stands at ₦1,045, a difference of ₦75 per litre.
While applauding the refinery’s turn – around, he disclosed that the Group Chief Executive Officer GCEO of the NNPCL,Mele Kyari has promised to address the issue of price differential to mitigate the impact on the public.
The reformation of the thePort Harcourt Refinery highlights the seriousness of the present administration to avail Petroleum products to the reach of Nigerians. The fixing of Warri and others along with Dangote would not only arrest the epileptic scarcity of fuel but bring down the cost of the product.
