The Chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Council in Edo State,Mr Edosa Enowoghomenma has defected to the All Progressives Congress APC.
Similarly, the Chairman of Owan West Local Government Council,Mr Dickson Ahonsi has defected to the APC.
In separate statements, the two council chairmen said their decision was borne out of their desire to join Governor Monday Okpebholo to develop the state
Receiving the defectors, the Secretary of the APC,Engr Lawrence Okah with other members of the exco said their deflection was long overdue and urged” them to use the broom to mobilise other people to join the party.”.
The defections come amid a face – off between Okpebholo and council chairmen elected on the platform of PDP
The development reportedly resulted in attacks on councils and impeachment of some council chairman .
