The Nigeria Football Federation NFF says it will officially unveil Mr Éric Sékou Chelle as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles on Monday.
A statement on the Federation website Sunday said the event will take place at the Media Conference Room of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, at 11am.
The NFF confirmed Chelle’s appointment last Tuesday in its Executive Committee, following a recommendation from its Technical and Development Committee.
Chelle 47, is a Frenchman born to a French Father and Malian mother.
His appointment received reactions, positive and negative from football loving public. While some were of the view that the NFF should have gone for someone higher and more popular ,others see Chelle,’s saw nothing wrong with his appointment saying it is “the end that justifies the means.”
The NFF and its President, Ibrahim Gusau however “,appealed to Nigerians to come together and support him, as we believe he has the qualities to achieve success with the Super Eagles.and assured Nigerians that the Federation would provide the necessary backing to ensure Chelle’s success.
Chelle brings a wealth of experience to the role, having guided Mali’s Aiglons to the brink of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.according to the NFF.
