Following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for alleged gross misconduct and serial fraud, the lawmakers replaced Obasa with his Deputy, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, the member representing Apapa 1 constituency.
Meranda is the first female to emerge Speaker in the Lagos Assembly.
Born in August,1980, Meranda holds a BSc in Public Administration from the Lagos State University LASU and ,Masters in Public and International Affairs( MPIA )University of Lagos .
