A High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State presided over by Justice Simon Aboki, on Friday ordered the remand of Timileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of Miss Salome Adaidu, a youth corp member..
Ajayi,who was recently paraded by the Nasarawa police command was arraigned on a one-count charge of culpable homicide punishable by death.
At the administrative arraignment, Justice Aboki ordered that the suspect be remanded in a correctional facility in Lafia as he could not take his plea due to the absence of counsel.
The judge therefore adjourned the matter to the twenty-seventh of this month.
Ajayi 32,,a gospel singer was arrested last weekend for killing Salome Adaidu and dismembering her body.. preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect severed the head of his victim and put it in a bag in an effort to dispose of it but ran out of luck when he was apprehended by an angry mob and nearly got lynched before the police came to his rescue.
The incident happened around Orozo,a border satellite town linking Abuja to Nasarawa State
The victim, Salome Adaidu,24, was a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the FCT and resident in Nyanya.
