U.S President, Donald Trump says he has agreed to pause the proposed N25 Tariffs on Mexican goods billed to take effect by Tuesday.
Taking to his Truth Social Platform, the American president said he agreed” to immediately pause” tariffs on Mexico for a Month after a friendly conversation with the country’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum.
” I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico . It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican Soldiers on the Border separating Mexico from the United States .”
Trump also said he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister,Justin Trudeau earlier Monday. Although the president did not disclose details of their conversation,he said he would have a follow – up conversation with Trudeau later today.
Analysts believe that Trump would most likely call off the Tariff rift with Canada.
Current matters reports that Trudeau on Saturday while regretting the betrayal of its most ally,USA,retaliated Trump’s 25% tariff hike on major U.S goods, which it noted would have serious consequences on Americans.
Reports already indicate soaring prices of goods shortly after Trump announced the tariffs. His deportation of illegal immigrants, some of whom work on farmlands and grocery shops have made the situation in the country dire.
