U. S Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills said 201 Nigerians to be evicted from the country are to be dropped in Lagos.
Mills made this known during a meeting with Mrs Bianca Odumegwu – Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in her office.
According to him, Eighty – five of them have been cleared for eviction.
The first group to be deported ” will be convicted prisoners – those who committed crimes and are in U. S prisons.
” Some of them are those who have clearly violated U.S immigration laws.
” They appealed but were denied yet they are still in the U. S. They have committed immigration crime..
On her part, Mrs Odumegwu – Ojukwu pleaded for dignified treatment of Nigerians to be deported.
The appeal came amid harrowing treatment meted out to deportees in other countries by the U. S. under Trump second administration.
Those evicted were bound by chains in their legs and hands as sighted in videos .
