In an effort to reduce the trauma faced by accident victims, an Emergency Medical Response team has become fully operational through its Ambulance Rentals initiative in the Federal Capital Territory.
Reacting to the latest tanker explosion in Karu on Wednesday night, The Corporate Affairs Manager of Medical Ambulance Services Limited (MASL), Omoniyi Kolade, told newsmen in Abuja that the emergency medical initiative is capable of deploying air/land ambulances for rescue efforts.
Omoniyi explained that through this initiative, mortality rate is expected to drop when a country embraces technological advancement and new initiatives in the health sector in which ambulance rentals is key.
According to him, ambulance rentals play a vital role in providing medical transportation services, ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care and prevent unnecessary and untimely deaths or fatalities.
He stated further that MASL through their Medical Emergency Transportation programme provides state of the art Ambulances for immediate transportation (both land and air) and first hand medical assistance during emergencies, such as accidents, heart attacks, strokes and other life threatening occurence or injuries.
While fielding questions from media practitioners, the Corporate Affairs boss revealed that, “our ambulances are equipped to provide critical care during transport, including cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and medication administration among others”.
