Youths under the aegis of Rivers Youths Stand With Gov Fubara have asked President Bola Tinubu to restore democratic rule in the state by reinstating Gov Siminilayi Fubara.
Tinubu had on March 18, declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State and suspended the executive and legislature for six months.
The president cited non action on the demolished House of Assembly and pipeline explosion in the state as reason for imposing a State of Emergency and suspending the democratic structures.
The president ‘s action interpreted as unconstitutional received condemnation from different quarters across the country.
Addressing a press conference, the Rivers Youths for Fubara narrated how the people faced severe hardship when the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory was governor of the state.
According to them , the Minister never marched his words with action as they claimed that 5000 jobs he announced and other empowerment programmes never saw the light of day.
They said that the emergency rule administrator, the ex Naval Chief has visited the State House of Assembly and affirmed its near conclusion
For this reason, the group urged the president to immediately lift the suspension so that Gov Fubara can return to continue with his good works.
” Now that it has been confirmed that the State House of Assembly is near completion”, a reason why the state of emergency was declared “can we now request that the governor should be reinstated?” Spokesman of the group said.
