A Gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra, Mr Paul Chukwuma has resigned from the party ahead of its primary election slated for Saturday April 5, 2025.
Chukwuma disclosed this in a resignation letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman, ward two, Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area of the state and made available on Friday to newsmen in his country home, Umueri
The aspirant who did not state reason for his resignation however promised to continue to support the party and the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu to better the country.
“I write to formerly notify you of my resignation as a card carrying member of the APC.
“Rest assured of my support to our shared progressive ideas as I will devote more time to pursuing the realisation of a safe and prosperous Anambra state of our dream.” Chukwuma said
Chukwuma was among seven governorship aspirants cleared by the APC at the National level to contest the April 5 primary election in the state.
Others cleared are Mr Nicholas Ukachukwu, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Mr Chukwuma Umeoji, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, Mr Johnbosco Onunkwo and Mr Edozie Madu.
The aspirant that emerges at the primary will face incumbent Governor, Chukwuma Soludo and others in the offcycle governorship election slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Nov. 8, 2025.
