President Buhari has asked the political class not to use their position to divert jobs meant for the poor.
The President’s caution is coming barely 24 hours after the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo Clashed with Lawmakers during a briefing on planned recruitment of 774 Nigerians.
Keyamo had alleged that the lawmakers were asking questions that suggest that they seek control of the recruitment programme even after 15% slots have been allocated to them.
President Buhari in a statement issued by the Minister of Information, L’ai Mohammed, warned Ministers, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to henceforth disregard any request from government officials aimed at conferring undue advantage on anyone seeking jobs or otherh favours.
He described such acts as ‘antithetical to the character of the administration’
The statement was signed by Segun Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the President (Media) office of the Minister of Information and Culture.
