When the Nwuke Quadrupplets, David Ogbonna Nwuke, Solomon Chiwendu Nwuke, Golden Udodiri Nwuke and Divine Chidi Nwuke were conceived and delivered, little did their parents know that all four children would make it to life.
The quadruplets were born on 14th March ,2018 at the then Braithwaite Memorial Hospital ( BMH) now Rivers State University Teaching Hospital located at Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt.
Theirs was premature birth as their mother was sectioned 6 months of pregnancy making their stay in the incubator for three months unavoidable.
Their parents, Mr Sam Ndudirim and wife Mrs Victoria Ulok Nwuke are natives of Umunwuke Okomoko, in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Mr and Mrs Sam Ndudirim Nwuke are both Police Inspectors working at different sections in the Rivers State Police Command.
While Sam is a general duty Police officer, in the Department of Operations,Victoria is a charge room officer.
Inspector Sam,who holds a degree in Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling thanked God for making him the father of the Quadrupplets. He however, revealed the challenges especially finance his family encountered since their birth describing it as “a whole lot even at this stage they are now”
” It was a surprise thing to me. Initially, I never thought I could have a set of quadruplets in my life but God made it possible. I return all glory to God.
” My major challenge then,even now,is finance,it actually took a whole lot of money to bring them to this stage they are now”.
He thanked his wife and mother of the children for the support she has given him since their marriage 15 years before the birth of the four children.
“Earnestly,my wife has been so helpful to me from the day I knew her till date,She’s been wonderfully assisting me jn the house and the bringing up of the children.” he said.
When asked about what attracted hm to the Job of policing,Sam said ” Police work is a dignified job,it’s a work you do with dignity”
Inspector Victoria on her part thanked God for giving her the children after,15 years of waiting for the fruit of the womb .
She said she was in a life where loneliness took a greater part of her until the arrival of the children.
According to her” My joy knew no bounds when they were delivered, I felt complete, the loneliness inside of me immediately disappeared. It was an unusual experience. God is awesome. I thought only 2 would make it to life as the doctor predicted,but seeing all of them all around me makes me to appreciate God daily for what he has done for me.
” I thank my bosses past and present for the special treatment given to me in terms of maternity leave and financial support during my pregnancy to delivery .
“Although , the challenges bringing them up is ernoumous, I trust that God who made it possible for me all this time will help me going forward. ” She said.
Inspector Victoria was an orderly to the wife of a former Deputy Governor of Rivers State,Dr Mina Tele Ikuru. She is vivacious and loves her job.
