The management of FCT Water board has organized a one day customer’s care forum for Gwagwalada area of the province in its campaign to ensure efficient service delivery.
The initiative was embarked upon with the sole aim of interacting with customers and to share first-hand information, along with responses amongst others.
The Acting General Manager, Dame Joy Okoro, stated in her opening remarks that the exercise, which had been carried out in Wuse/Wuye, Maitama and Wuse II Area offices in June, 2021, followed by Kubwa 1 and Kubwa 2 Area office interactive forum held in July, 2021.
“The forum in Gwagwalada, makes it the 14th Area the exercise has extended to”.
According to her, “As a responsible organization, FCT water board has its customer’s interest and concern at heart, especially in such a time as this”, Dame Okoro explained.
She also added that the special forum is to re ensure the esteemed customers of the management’s ultimate and unflinching support, both in their mode of service and delivery.
Some of the areas the forum examined are: over-billing, non payment of bills, malfunctioning meter, none reflection of payments made amongst others.
Customers present at the forum applauded the management for its tireless efforts in making sure that water is available to all and sundry in the area.
They, however, pointed out some areas where adequate provisions should be readily provided.
These areas include: Lack of resources, issue of rationing, problem of low pressure, broken pipes amongst others.
Meanwhile, the Acting GM stated in an interview after the session that, ” we had a lot of complaints about pipe burst and like you did hear us speak to them, we have some solutions to that. We’ll go out to the distribution areas, check them out and make it possible that those pipes are put in place”.
She further reiterated the commitment through hard work and dedication on the part of the management, noting that the public would be sensitized about the management’s goals, which will help in the reduction of the identified problems.
