Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Friday, suspended the Emir of Misau, Ahmad Suleiman and following two otter traditional rulers over crisis in the area that led to the death of nine persons and many injured.
Those suspended with the Emir are the District Head of Chiromancie, Yusuf Atiku, and the village head of Zadawa, Bappa Ahmed.
The governor announced the suspension of the emir and the two traditional rulers at Government House during the inauguration of a 13 man investigative panel with the mandate to identify the cause of the problem
Governor Muhammed said the suspension was to allow the panel carry out its duties without interference.
According to the governor the the suspension became imperative following series of petitions his government received from some communities.
He said that the affected traditional rulers will remain in Misau and are not allowed to go anywhere as they are required to submit themselves to the Administrative Inquiry Committee pending the time it is over.
