News Giant,CNN has relieved one of its prominent anchors, Chris Cuomo for helping his brother, former Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo with his sexual harassment scandal defense.
Chris Cuomo was said to have assisted his brother’s aides to enable him stay on as governor despite the sexual harassment scandal.
A statement from CNN on Sunday morning said” Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately. While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination,we will investigate as appropriate.”
On his part, Chris Cuomo lamented the sack saying that was not how he wanted to end his time in CNN.
” This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother. So let me now say as dissappinting as this is,I could not be more proud of the team at” Cuomo Prime Time’ and the work we did as CNN’s #1 show in the most competitive time slot I owe them all and will miss that group of special people who did really important work”
Additional information says the Cuomo Prime Time’anchor was fired for disregarding journalistic ethoes, ethics, standards and practices which separate his personal life from his professional conduct.
Despite the sack,Hope is not lost for the fine anchor as one of his colleagues, Brian Stelter,Chief Media Correspondent, revealed that Cuomo’s Prime Time’ which airs at 9 pm and about 3 am Nigerian Time would be maintained along with Cuomo’s staff.
