The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, says it secured a total of 2220 convictions in 2021.
In a statement in Abuja, the Anti Graft agency revealed that the figure which emerged from a review of the commission performance in the outgone year had Lagos Command with the most convictions- 481 closely followed by Ibadan with 324 and 230 from Port Harcourt zonal command’
The statement added that the convictions secured in 2021 is the highest since the inception of the agency.
According to the statement, prior to 2021 the highest record of conviction was secured in 2019 with 1280 convictions.
Commenting on the performance,Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman of the EFCC commended the personnel of the commission for their hardwork and dedication despite challenges of criminal prosecution in court
Bawa assured the staff of incentives that would further galvanise them for greater efficiency.
