Staff of Imo Oil Producing Area Development Commission on Monday protested over non payment of there months salaries by the state government.
The protesting workers blocked the government house Owerri and turned back vehicles going in and out of government house.
Speaking to Newsmen, the Union Chairman,Chinedu Awusie said that the leadership of the Commission had severally met with the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma over the payment but no meaningful progress had been made.
He said “the allocation does not come from the state government but the state government is holding the money meant for payment of salaries and carrying out of projects in the Oil Producing communities”
Awusie said that the governor was being insensitive and wicked and accused him of marginalising staff of ISOPADEC by interfering with Funds meant for the Commission.
