Zamfara House of Assembly has impeached the Deputy Governor of the state,Barrister Mardi Aliyu Gusau.
The impeachment reportedly followed the report submitted by the panel set up by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu to investigate allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office made against him.
Chairman of the panel, Justice Halidu Soba ( Rtd) submitted the report to the Speaker of the House of Assembly,Nasiru Muazu.who assured that the House would expedite action on the report immediately.
Afterwards, he set the stage for a motion of impeachment of the Deputy Governor.
The impeached Deputy Governor had at last weekend told a group of media men and women in Abuja about his refusal to be probed by the 7- member panel saying doing so would be wrong as the matter was before a court of law.
Gusau’s problem began when he’, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), refused to defect along with the Governor, Bello Mattawalle to the All Progressives Congress APC last year.
