…..Schedules Governorship,, Presidential primaries for April 28,April 30 respectively
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released timetable for conduct of activities for the 2023 General Election.
A statement reportedly signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary,Umar Bature said activities will commence on March 7 with the official release of the party’s timetable and guidelines by the National Working Committee which will equally constitute congresses and convention commitees.
According to the schedule of events, the party wil on March 8l send notice of congresses and conventions to INEC while March 9 is for notice of election to state chapters.
Sales and purchase of forms for all offices will commence on March 21. March 26 will be for nomination of of electoral commitees and appeal panels, while March 26 will be final day for the submission of nomination and expression of interest forms.
Publication of membership of committee, and convention and sub- commitees is scheduled for March 28, Screening of aspirants for the House of Assembly House of Representatives,Senate, Governorship and Presidential seats will take place respectively on each day from March 29 to April 2.
April 4 – April 6 is slated for screening appeals for aspirants for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats will take place, respectively on each day from April 4 to April 6.
Ward congresses to elect 3 member ad-hoc delegates will take place on April 11 , while LGA congresses to elect national delegates will take place on April 14.
The Party has scheduled appeals for LGA congresses for April 15 while the NWC will publish the delegates lists on April 16.
House of Assembly primaries will be conducted across the states off the federation on April 18 . Appeals on the House of Assembly primaries will be heard on April 19 while April 22 has been fixed for House of Representatives congresses to elect candidates who will contest for the federal constituency elections will be conducted.
April 23 is for hearing of Appeals on the House of Representatives congresses,
Senatorial district congress to elect candidates who will contest for the senatorial elections will be conducted on April 25, Appeals on the senatorial district congreses will be heard on April 26.
Governorship election primaries is fixed for April 28 at the state congresses . Appeals on the governorship primaries will be entertained on April 29.
The PDP has fixed April 30 for its presidential primary election which will be conducted at the national convention.
Appeals for the presidential primary election has been scheduled for May 1 while presentation of certificates of returns to all candidates is for May 4.
June 10- June 17 is for submission of presidential and national assembly candidates’ names and forms to INEC.
July 1- July,15 will be for submission of governorship and state house of assembly candidates’names and forms to INEC.
Campaigns will commence on September 28. October 14 is the last day for withdrawal by presidential and national assembly candidates and replacement of withdrawn candidates.
The last day for withdrawal by the state house of assembly and governorship candidates and replacement of withdrawn candidates is October 21
.
