…….We challenge you to defect to APC and allow us shave your head, give you more stress.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has lashed out on Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki referring him as a politician whose deoxyribonucleic Acid,( DNA) is given to serial betrayal and ungratefulness to those who always help to advance his political aspirations.
Governor Wike was reacting to comments made by Governor Obaseki likening him to a political bully and overlord at the inauguration of the Community Secondary School, Omuanwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State by former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana.
The Governor apologized to the Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for opposing him when he insisted that Obaseki is a man of ungratefulness and insincerity.
Governor Wike emphasized that Comrade Oshiomhole has been vindicated given the recent display of ingratitude by Governor Obaseki to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and to those who had helped him to secure his second tenure as Governor of Edo State.
The Rivers State Governor boasted that Obaseki is never his match where character matters because he is consistent, sincere and a forthright team player that had never betrayed those that helped him politically.
Governor Wike explained that the problem in Edo State was a case of Governor Obaseki asking the National leadership of PDP to dissolve Edo PDP when the leaders had been elected before he joined the party and had provided formidable structure for him to win the election.
The Rivers State Governor wondered why Obaseki is unable to bring everybody together and work with them, but instead wants to unleash the illegality of APC in PDP, which is being resisted because ordinarily, he is a political tenant in PDP.
Governor Wike who clarified that he fought a sitting governor to access and take charge of the party structure in Rivers State, said it is unfortunate that Obaseki described him as a bully now that he is being called to order, but came begging a bully to help him, become the director general of his campaign, bullied him into Edo State Government House and came with his wife to thank the bully for his electoral victory.
He also opined that Obaseki lacked the facts concerning the 2019 PDP convention for which he claimed he threatened the party, explaining that it was agreed that the convention would hold in Port Harcourt and he had notified hoteliers to so prepare their facilities, but when there were plans to scuttle it, he called the attention of the to the likely implication particularly the business community.
The Governor accused Obaseki of having secret meetings with the APC, and challenged him to defect and await PDP shave his head, give him more stress and make the seat uncomfortable for him.
Speaking on the school, Governor Wike said governance is about feeling and touching the lives of the people, saying he has judiciously deployed the states resources to provide basic infrastructure for the overall benefit of Rivers people.
Inaugurating the project, former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana described Governor Wike as a courageous leader who is focused, has capacity, wisdom, integrity and dedicated to service.
Gana opined that Governor Wike has used the resources of the state to better the wellbeing of Rivers people and has become a sterling example of the kind of leadership Nigerians should expect from the PDP in 2023.
He expressed optimism that PDP will take over power in 2023 to rescue, restructure the federation, and transform the economy in order to reduce poverty.
Professor Gana urged Governor Wike to run for presidency, emphasizing that when Rivers people present him as the candidate that has their support, the entire people of the Middle Belt of Nigeria will not hesitate to stand with them.
Earlier in his project description, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, George Kelly Alabo said the school sits on a twenty-one hecters of land with five blocks of six classrooms each, three hundred and fifty capacity hostel and dinning hall, staff quarters, offices, laboratory, library and an internal road of five hundred and twenty meters long and seven-point-three meters wide.
