The West African Examination Council (WAEC) says it is reviewing the decision by the Federal Government that disallowed Nigeria’s participation in the 2020 WASSCE it scheduled to begin on August 4.
WAEC National Coordinator Patrick Areghan noted that the federal government’s decision and the situation at hand were being looked at.
He said that there was uncertainty on whether the examination would take place in the other four countries as scheduled.
Areghan said that the Exam body would not confront the Nigerian government as the government had the right to make decisions.
He said that there had been cooperation and understanding between WAEC and government.
According to him, the public would be duly informed when Final decisions are concluded.
